Now, users of Android devices and anyone using the Chrome desktop browser (even if you’re using a Mac) can get up-to-the-minute instant alerts on SPAC filings, smart summaries of transaction terms, tailored notifications, and more!

Here’s our guide on how to get the most out of the app and browser notifications:

All SPAC filings that would normally be visible on the SPACInsider Website and distributed in SPACInsider‘s daily emails are now available in real time on the app’s news tab, broken up by date of filing. But, to be pinged on the updates you are most interested in, you can select one of our preset notification settings, or create your own manually from scratch within the categories of New Filings Alert, SPAC Filter Match Alert or New Posts Alert.

New Filings Alerts presets are already prepared if you would like notifications on events like new business combination announcements and updates, the splitting of SPAC units or new S-1 filings, for instance. But, these may also be customized based on any combination of 23 different event categories and 29 specific filing types.

SPAC Filter Match alerts can be set to alert you when a SPAC enters or exits categories of interest, such as when a Healthcare-focused SPAC completes a business combination or when a SPAC announces a merger in the Industrials sector. Any filter that exists as a field in SPACInsider‘s database may be selected for such an alert.

New Posts Alerts, meanwhile, allows users to set notifications for when SPACInsider publishes written content under any of our seven categories like Deal Announcement analysis, IPO Pricings or new Podcasts.

With any of these alerts, users have the option of being notified by email, by text message or by the app itself on your device.

The app provides utility far beyond notifications, however. Through the app, SPACInsider is offering subscribers its fastest and most streamlined way of getting straight to the relevant information in a filing and tracking the specific changes in each amendment.

Take, for example, this view of Talon Capital Corp.‘s (NASDAQ:TLNCU) new S-1 filing. When viewing the S-1 in the app, each of the key terms is summarized in a footnote. Each of these footnotes also contains links that will take you directly to the portion of the filing that is being referenced in the summary so that you may review that section in full.

Users can use the same footnoting system for other types of filings and may also track changes as S-1s and proxies evolve.

As seen above, once a footnote link is clicked, in this case for Talon Capital’s underwriting discount, the app will open the full SEC filing and jump to the portion of the document where the information referenced can be reviewed in full. Should Talon Energy file an amended S-1, each change in the S-1/a from the original will be footnoted and linked with the ability to jump via link to the amended passage in the same way.

Selected terms in the footnotes will also highlight source text within the document for ease of reading, and users can use this Changes sidebar to navigate through every amendment individually.

Chrome

For users who prefer to set and interact with alerts directly on their computer’s browser, these can be conveniently set up by clicking the drop-down menu at the top right of the SPACInsider website, then clicking “My account”.

There, users can set up alerts with the same options available on the app.

These can also be set up as in-app notifications or as email or text notifications according to the user’s preferences.
